Swedish massage is a technique in which the therapist uses long, slow strokes to ease muscle tension. This is usually considered as a light massage and is suggested for those who want to relax. Deep tissue massage on the other hand involves stronger and more focused kneading on muscles to reach the deeper tissues within the muscle. It most suggested for athletes and those who often go to gyms, for it is able to improve mobility, reduce muscle pains and improve blood circulation. Finally, Cranio Sacral therapy is a specific massage technique that targets the muscles around the spine and head. It is proved that this type of massage is very beneficial for those having migraines and headaches.

Majority of us people have at least tried an alcoholic drink. Some may not like it but a lot may actually become addicted to it. Alcoholism is common in people nowadays and a lot of lives, families and relationships are destroyed by alcohol addiction. What makes people attracted to alcohol in the first place? Well there are a lot of factors, it could be genetically, environmental, mental, or others. Some drink because they tend to forget their problems when they drink and it distracts them from reality.

Alcohol can cause devastating effects on the body. First is the hangover. Imagine waking up the next day with headaches and wanting to throw up every 10 minutes. This disrupts your normal activities and can even cause you to lose your job if you have a hangover on a weekday. Even thought coffee at times helps, the real cure for a hang-over is time and getting enough sleep. Alcohol can also in time lower your critical thinking skills and evidence show that alcohol can lower the size of your mind. Aside from this, alcohol can also weaken the body, particularly putting you at the risk of acquiring complications in the liver. Bottom line is alcohol can bring about damages in your body so it would be best to avoid it or at the very least, drink moderately.

What is Perennial Allergic Rhinitis

Allergies are disorders of the immune system due to allergens, the substances that cause the allergic reaction. It is one of the four forms of hypersensitivity which is characterized by extreme activation of the body’s mast cells and basophils by an antibody called IgE, causing inflammatory response.

Perennial allergic rhinitis is a type of allergy which is similar to hay fever that causes swelling and irritation of the delicate linings in the nose and eyes. It is usually caused by indoor allergens such as indoor mould spores, feces of house dust mites, pert skin flakes, food allergies, etc. Winter is the season when there is greater tendency to suffer from perennial allergic rhinitis because during this time, pets and utilization of central heating in the house encourages growth of house dust mites.

Symptoms of perennial allergic rhinitis include blocked and stuffy nose, constant sore throats and postnasal drip, symptoms of a permanent cold, head and earache, watery eyes and loss of taste and smell. Unfortunately, there is no other cure for this allergic reaction but to prevent your allergens. However, there are medicines or treatments available in the market that can control the reaction during the attack such as antihistamines, low-steroidal nasal sprays, decongestant tablets and desensitization immunotherapy.

The most commonly used birth control method by women is oral contraception. Of course, it is not always 100% effective and cannot be taken by all. Birth control pills cannot be taken in by women beyond 35. Women with liver diseases, cancers, or heart conditions are also not allowed to use oral contraception. Still, some women choose not to use birth control pills because they are worried about its possible side effects. Some examples of perceived side effects of oral contraceptives include the increase in the risk of getting cancer, weight gain, bloating, and fluid retention.

Women feel that oral contraceptives increase the risk of getting breast or ovarian cancer. Contrary to this belief, oral contraceptives actually help prevent cancer especially in the reproductive system. But then, try to avoid oral contraception altogether, especially if you have a family history of cancer. Studies also show that women who are taking birth control pills gain weight. Although this is just minimal and may have been caused by numerous of other factors, women avoid it just to make sure that they do not gain unwanted pounds. Women also link The Pill with water retention but there may be a lot of other things causing this. If it gets severe however, better consult the doctor as you may be experiencing extreme side effects from contraceptive pills.

For those who are reading about frozen shoulder for the first time, frozen shoulder is also called adhesive capsulitis. Inflammation and scarring of the capsule around the shoulder joint can cause this frozen shoulder. Consulting your physician is the best thing to do in order to treat frozen shoulder. The physician would check the affected areas using an X-ray or an MRI. What are some of the symptoms of frozen shoulder or how do you know if you are suffering from it? One symptom is when you the shoulder pain you are feeling is a dull ache. Second is when you are unable to move the affected area. Third is that when simple tasks becomes very difficult, such as getting dressed, combing the hair, and reaching over the head.

There are three stages of frozen shoulder that you ought to know. First stage is freezing. This is when the pain and movement is restricted and this stage will last for six to twelve months. Next is the frozen stage wherein the shoulder is stiff although the pain may ease. This stage lasts for four to six months. And lastly, thawing is when movement returns to the shoulder and the pain eases. This will last more than a year.
